Marcy Twete is a recognized leader in corporate sustainability and responsibility (CSR). She thrives at the intersection of financial value creation and non-financial value and believes that understanding the link between environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors and business value will make or break a company’s reputation and long-term sustainability.
From 2014-2018, Marcy led sustainability and corporate responsibility at ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel and mining company. There, she led a team responsible for developing the first Integrated Report in the steel industry in the Western Hemisphere and was part of the global team that created ArcelorMittal’s industry-leading sustainability program. Since 2018, she advises businesses and nonprofit organizations on environmental, social, and governance risks and reputation management.
Nicole and Marcy talk about what exactly CSR is, where Marcy thinks this area of business is going, and how businesses and nonprofits of any size can positively impact their communities by incorporating CSR into their overall business strategy.
